Yesterday morning, office, downloading some e-mails for work, then preparing some files for finishing an order. It was 9:15 and I decided to check on my gmail account. Everything as usual, few funny e-mails, one from a close friend and that`s it.
Logged off and start to work on an order. Boring day, as usual, I thought.
At 10:15, before proceeding the order to production, I checked e-mail again. Didn`t expect anything new but… whatever.
First e-mail had familiar header and subject: number of file, immigration visa.
My heart jumped.
Dear Mr. Gedelovski,
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.
My heart jumped again.
In order to complete the processing of your application you must:
Oh, no, what do they ask for now? Felt a sting of disappointment back in my scull.
provide this office with a passport for you in order that immigrant visa may be affixed in the passport.
OMG!!! :eyes:
Yay… yay…. yay!?
Couldn`t believe my eyes. Read e-mail again. Then again. And again, afraid that I maybe misunderstood something. Looking for a point where I missed something…
Logged off. Looked at monitor in disbelief. Then logged on and read e-mail again. And again. 6 times.
Yaaaaayyyy!!! I yelled deep in my mind.
Took a deep breath, looked around to see if anyone noticed. It is still not time for my boss to know about it. But soon. Then forwarded e-mail to San.

Today I went to my both trainings. Practiced hard. Then went home.
After so many days I sang under the shower again :sing:
I`ve made this post friends only but soon I will turn it to public. This one and the one when we married. I just want this to be complete surprise in a week or so
Mrs. Gedelovski? π
Congratulations Darko! :hat:  What a wonderful news π Now you will meet soon Mrs. Gedelovski. I never heard this name before.
When I received that letter I just stared at it in disbelief. Then it was OMG OMG OMG. I had a hard time getting ready for work. π
ah..I see π In Serbia you can choose if you want to keep your name or to take your husband's name or to add your husband's name to yours. But many women take husband's name..I think this is more for traditional reasons..:)
I am happy for you two, I know you waited long time.
Mira, thank you. It was only 5 months since they got my application in Vienna office, so it was faster than average. But at moments it felt too long :left:San
I've kept my own name. We might combine our names later on.
Aren't you? π
Congrats to both of you! It's so wonderful, and I'm very happy for you!
Hey, that's great, and it was pretty quick – you're very lucky. Now you two can be together properly π
Made up for ya, mate. Hope it finally comes together sooner rather than later, but the stage you're at now is a great step.
w00t! Fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for both of you! :wine:

Congratulations! When are you moving to Canada? We should organize a local My Opera meet before you're too far away for such things.
"After so many days I sang under the shower again" Darko singing again :Dfor good reason! CONGRATULATIONS! very happy for you and San :):hat: :hat: :hat:
I hope you're not expecting sarma and a brass band at the airport. π
Star, thank you :happy:Kimmie, there were days when it felt like it will never happen. But you are right, it was actually faster than average :cheers:Mik, thanks π Now a plenty of work is in front of me, to settle everything up before I leave Serbia. And for San to prepare some things for me when I arrive :up:Angeliki, long time no see π Thank you :)Felix, I will call my travel agent and ask him to try to reserve a ticket for me for beginning of November. I still need to wait for my passport to come from Vienna Immigration Office (they are in charge for immigrants from ex-Yu and some other Balkan countries) and it can take up to 6 weeks. Well, hopefully not π Thanks

Jill, I think I was singing thishttp://my.opera.com/gdare/blog/2009/09/13/ruza-crvena-red-rose
Jill, thanks  :sing:San, this is funny π You know, some of my friends suggested me to have a great party the night before I leave, so in the morning a white limo would take me to the airport followed by a truck with bras orchestra on it playing that Serbian music from south π π :heart:
Congratulation! I have heard it from Dirk. But I want to congratulate both of you here. It is a wonderful feeling to come to this point. π
This is definitely one of those rare occasions where navigating through bureaucratic procedures is worth it :DFive months is a hell of a long time to wait, though :ko: Is this visa the only one you'll need, or do you need to do later ones as well (like Fan and I have to)? Our first took 3 days, the second took 4 months.
So, you are leaving the old country to try your luck in the new world. Going by aero plane in stead of steam boat? Watch out over there. Don't let capitalism corrupt you…
Teresia, thank you. I feel great now :happy:Martin, I guess airplane is my steam boat in this century. Who knows, maybe next time San and me will have spaceship to move to another planet :DMart, it was hell of a paperwork to do. As you probably know. And the most annoying part was when they wanted to know about my military records – there was nothing in them actually – but that part of checking lasted the longest. As far as I know, I will got visa that will grant me entrance to Canada and then immigration officer will have to confirm it on the border. And that`s about it. Then I will have to get ID card, tax PIN number, driving license, etc, etc.
I didn't know what the song meant at the time, it's a sad song, but they way he sang it was so sweet.

Darko, congratulations!
San, do you like Serbian music?
Da! π
 SviΔa ti se Bijelo dugme? To mi je omiljena ex-Yu grupa π
San π :lol:Miro, San ne govori baΕ‘ toliko srpskog π Mada, uvek postoji Google Translate π
Hi San! π Have you heard and seen "Vranjanska Svita" dance:http://youtu.be/gKp8PbTR5hQand "Igre iz Vranja" dance?http://youtu.be/HQZ6Tp870FIThey are my favorite.
That's great! I'm sure Dare could do that part in the first video starting around 1:08 . It's slow enough. heheActually when they get down on their knees it looks like Aikido practice. π
Dare I am extremely happy for you and San. Now you'll be in my part of the world. Hope it happens sooner rather than later for you.
I know it's hard, and I appreciate that. I just remember you saying the other day you could never do those kolos because the footwork was too fast. This one is slower and you have those strong legs from Aikido! π
Ana, when San told me there are parts on those dances that are slow, I knew it is from south :up:San, some of it are very hard, you should try it :PLinda, thanks π
π
Such exciting news Darko! I'm very happy for you two.
Thnks Pam. How are you doing these days?
I could be better. The achy joints are not easing up. I was hoping all the walking up and down stairs inside, and the walks outside would have made them at least a little better.

Absolutelyfrigginpositively!!!!!!!Congrats to you and San. Of course you know that if you and I are neighbors, I'll be stopping in every once in a while at the worst moments to borrow a drill or an electric sander. :p
Or just a cup of coffee π π
:lol:Sure! Why not! :up::coffee:
