So, a new year has come again. The last one has gone in the blink of an eye and this is a phenomenon I noticed long time ago, since my early 30s. And that process is not slowing down. Quite contrary, soon it will get the speed of light or so it feels that way…
Anyway. On 31st early in the morning, we returned from Mexico. It will probably become our usual vacation time, Decemeber around Christmas, a perfect way to avoid shopping madness and some cold and rainy weather. This time it was Ixtapa in Guerrero federal state, about 200km north of Acapulco. But I will make a separate post about it, as soon as I sort all the photographs. Enough to say that weather was nice and the ocean was warm.
In the evening, San made an excellent dinner – chunks of meat and pile of potatoes, some salad – and I played a 1994. Peter Gabriel’s concert dvd. Later, some wine and more music and some TV shows. At ten, we were tired enough to go to bed. Fireworks, firecrackers and some yelling woke us up just to let us know about January 1st in this time zone.
So, even though you’ve probably heard it so many times by now – I don’t think there is anyone western of us in our small group of friends; there is just the ocean from here to Japan π – San and I wish you all a Happy New 2k14, and a lot of health and happiness. Hopefully there will be enough money to take care of the rest π
some souvenirs we brought from Mexico
Happy New Year to the both of you!
Happy New Year! π
Happy New Year, and the same sentiments to you also. I’m glad you had a good trip, and that you’ll enjoy similar ones in future π
Words and d4rkn1ght – thank you, both
Kimmie, for the end of this year we were thinking that Cuba might be a good place to visit. But we have another 11 1/2 months to think about it…. so we will see π
Happy New Year to the both of you.
You two really knew how to make a perfect New Year’s Eve π
We do π Thanks!!!
You hit 2014 and finally got around to seeing a concert from 20 years ago? No wonder it feels like the year is going fast for you.
Happy new year to you both. And, as my alcoholic, slurs so much that they may or may not be related to me, hobo creature that wanders around the area says about tequila “Kiss the devil, eat the worm.”
Well, to a immortal like me, years mean nothing, just a blink in eternity π
Mezcal is made with worm inside it. Tequila is more… tame kind of drink π
Happy new year! π
Happy new year to you too, Adele!
Happy New Year to you and San. I babysat the last few years for New Years which is fine by me. I don’t like being out on the road at night anymore anyway. Is that tequila in the bottle on the right? I take a shot of that please. Cheers. Here’s to many more trips for you and San.
Thanks Pam. Somehow, New Years have lost the meaning they had while I was younger. I am not anymore thrilled by it and if I can, I go to bed as if it is any normal day π
Both bottles are tequila, actually, one of them bianco (white) and the other… normal, so to say. We’ve found that white has a little bit better taste, or it is only a brand that tastes better than the other. When we were in Cabo San Lucas, there was a shop that sells only tequila and they were having some very expensive brands, up to 160 USD per bottle :faint:
Thanks!!!
