All these green lakes

Previous weekend we went to Kentucky lake, about 300km from Vancouver, in Okanagan. Another glacial lake and another beautiful shade of green. It was raining on Friday but cleared up on Saturday bringing a beautiful and warm day. We hiked around lake, then kayaked and even tried to fish but they were too smart for us πŸ˜›
Anyway, I woke up around 5 in the morning both days making photographs and walking around with a mug of hot coffee. It was cold but refreshing and I enjoyed listening almost perfect silence of that calm place. Obviously I was not the only one.

Anyway, silent green lakes of BC continues to amaze me. Completely out of the everyday world I am dealing with, they "reset" me every time giving me strength to start next week all over again.

What a great photo album, Darko. :up:This is one of your best for sure, congrats!

That is very pretty. I don't think I've ever been to the Okanagan valley – I've tended to either visit the BC coast or stay on the east of the mountains. And I see some wildlife in your album, too πŸ˜€

Louis, thank you. We are thinking of buying a new camera, my cheap old Canon already made almost 11000 photos and I am not sure how long it will work. Also, some of the photos were edited in Photoshop, mostly contrast and colour levels.Adele, Okanagan is on the west from Rockies and east of Coastal Mountains, so there you are :DAs for wildlife, those squirrels were the most dangerous species we've seen :left:

Like Allan would say: if you don't like how the way your camera has processed the shot, process it the way you would like it to be!

I still miss him, too, Louis. He was full of wisdom.

    Exactly πŸ˜€

It's just what you'd do in a "wet" darkroom.

  10. qlue says:

  11. gdare says:

Star, thanks. The dog was actually a pup and started to wag a tail the moment I came closer :DMizzM, yes those are mine photos :happy:Aadil, I was told two years ago that BC is probably the most beautiful part of Canada. When I visit other provinces I will let you know. So far – that`s the true

Ah, the geese deserved to be in the post :awww:

  13. gdare says:

They were hiding near the bank but got scared when we approached them. I didn't see them the day before so they must have come sometimes during the night. But we've seen a lot of loons 😎

I love looking through your camera lens at things I have seen all my life and are so are common place to me that I don't really see and appreciate them.

  15. gdare says:

Thanks for being there and sharing a great time we had  I am just sorry I didn't have camera with me while we were kayaking, but I don't like when it is so close to water πŸ˜›

Thanks for the links. I am thinking of buying a new camera, anyway. All the photos you can see on this blog are proudly made with this small and cheap Canon I've bough about a 6 years ago. After more than 11000 photos from 3 continents, I think it is time for it to retire :cool:But waterproof camera case is definitely a must when photographing from kayak or canoe
