Zagreb, again

Two weeks ago I went to Zagreb to meet my cousins and spend two slow days with them. A weather was calm and sort of warm, sun rays breaking through the layers of fog and thin clouds. One day we went to Jarun, a lake in the south western part of Zagreb. Sunday morning was reserved for Maksimir park. I haven`t been there for more than a year, for those of you who haven`t been around here is a post I made in December 2009.

Jarun lake
My cousin, his wife and me walked around and eventually found a cafe to sit and enjoy in sudden warmth 😎

Tomorrow, Maksimir. Local wildlife was active but I made only few shots with my camera. Guess I was too lazy and wanted to enjoy the day

Birds on a feeder. I think those are tits but Adele and Words are welcome to correct me 😀

pair of swans
I was lucky to choose that particular weekend for my short trip because since last Sunday there are anti-government demonstrations in Zagreb and lately all over Croatia :left:

You and your cousin look so unhappy 😆 those birds do look like tits *chuckle* but I know relatively nothing.

  2. raniakasim says:

wow u and ur cousin are wearing a black clothes ,is this a chance or did so Deliberately . i am asking cause i and my cousin did so when we were studying at the university , by the way i haven't seen an olive tree planted in a planter ,strange isn't it .

  3. Mickeyjoe-Irl says:

Looks like you had lovely spring weather for you day at the park. I'd say they were Great Tits, based on the swarms I see around Mom's feeder.

  4. BabyJay99 says:

Beautiful scenery of the lake. And lovely pixs.

  5. spooksister says:

Like the rest of the world I have been following the anti government demonstrations in Egypt and now Libya. Looking on the map, you are not very far away and so it's disturbing to hear that similar problems are occurring on your side of the Mediterranean. Be safe…

  6. sanshan says:

I think he looks ruggedly handsome. 🙂

  7. gdare says:

Rania, it was not deliberate, just happened that we both wore black 😎 As for olive tree, I am amazed that you recognized it. Zagreb is too cold for olives to be planted outside, so when it snows they pobably put a tree inside.Kimmie, we played Men in Black, wanted to look so cool :cool:Mick, two days later snow started and it is still around :left:Lea, thanks, it was nice to be there :DSal, this is what we can expect to happen in Serbia soon. Actually, I know it will start in April because it is already scheduled by oposition leaders. Economic situation in Balkan countries is hard and a level of corruption is way too high. Unfortunately, opposition leaders don`t have a solution for current situation :irked:San

    Carol, thank you

  12. gdare says:

Jill, I admit I improved that one in Photoshop, added some glow to make it better :whistle:As for time in Canada, it was great for body and soul

It was pleasant time I had there :happy:We don`t have demos in Serbia. It is actually in Croatia for two weeks by now. Ours are scheduled for April, but we will see if they are going to happen :left:

  40. rose-marie says:

Ah – sound, and looks, like you a good time :up:I briefly saw something on the news about demos in Serbia. Was it just the one, or have there been more?

  41. rose-marie says:

Ah sorry! For me, it's all Yugo… :oYou schedule your demos that long in advance?

  42. Words says:

I'm way too late to confirm that they are indeed 'great tits'. I always think their call sounds like a wheel that needs oiling! Nice shot of the swans too

  43. gdare says:

Rose, usually not, but this year oposition leaders wanted to warn ruling coalition. It is all politics….Words, thanks :cheers:Originally posted by Words:

I am fine, and we are fine. We are busy with we called real life. I have to study German as I don`t want to get lost here . And because I want to pass the test with a good achievement. That is very important for me. so once a while I use my spare time to chat with my friends and relatives in indonesia on facebook as I miss them and here I have to deal with a different society. But I am h appy so far I am doing good. 🙂 Thank you for asking Darko. It is very nice of you… 🙂

  48. gdare says:

Thank you  How are you and Dirk doing? Don`t see you around lately 🙂

  49. gdare says:

I supposed it would be sort of hard for you, Asia is so different than Europe. I remember on my first stay in Japan, after 10 days I just had to speak in Serbian, it was like a physical need… So I started talking in Serbian, when I was alone in my hotel room 😆
