I spent some time out today, I had a training then went to get my hair cut; in 5 p.m. I had a coffee with a friend in one of the pubs on river Danube. Even though it was warm during the day – over 10C/50F – suddenly it dropped to 3C/37.4F :left: Later, we had a short walk by the river then I escorted her to a bus station and went home. My hands were cold and nose started running – a sure sign that winter is behind the corner ๐ Had plans to go out tonight, my friend invited me to photography exhibition, but felt tired and that special feeling of weariness when spending too much time out in the cold. Took a hot shower then sat in my warm and safe place….
Took this photo the other day when I was changing batteries in my camera. Somehow it felt warm just looking at it. Hope you are all at safe and warm place… somewhere…

Hmm, not sure about the temperature in my igloo. I do have a fireplace though and my boots!๐ Good for -50C.
Have a nice day.
Those boots look very serviceable and business-like! We have no excuse to wear boots like that here in Texas. ๐
*smiles warmly* I am most happy to hear that Dare.. ๐ฎ
Zulia, thank you. Dark, I am very glad that you have a rich background. I know OC is a good place to be cause I am not discriminated here. But sometimes I am misunderstood so I would stop commenting on blogs and complete my blog and leave.
Mit, this is very playful ๐ Thanks, you too :)San, and you are wearing them with shorts? Do you have any photo to prove that? :PLinda, feet would be cooked-like if you wear them in Texas :lol:Mina, :)KYren, I don`t think there is a need for that, to leave, but it is your choice.
Although my feet get so cold in the winter, I could probably benefit by wearing them with a pjs at night. What I want is some electric socks, or those foot warmers that run on batter, you stick your feet in them and they are like a heater. I get cold all over if my feet get cold—and they stay that way pretty much all winter. Thaw out in May, maybe.
When feet are cold the entire body feels it. This is why I appreciate good shoes or boots. I don`t need warmers though, my circulation is good but we will see what will happen in 40 or 50 years
Wow great photo  darko..
It has been raining for three days in Denmark. Just steady rain. And there is not much more to say about that. I could be bitching about it, but for what purpose? Sun up: 0728, sun down 1636, a good eight hours of sunlight a day, and counting. Average temperature: 7,2 Celcius. No reason to not get depressed.;)
I don't like swear words. I can't believe Mik used swear word on me misinterpreting my question.
So, from which Movie Theater did you say you stole that screen from? ๐ That is one huge, ginormous screen! No wonder they make Wallpapers … for monitors the size of a WALL. ๐ No wonder you don't like Desktop Icons. Not only would they disrupt the Art factor, but you would have a hard time finding the Icons in there.
I hate to say this, because I know what it sounds like, but courtesey demands me to say it, even so: My screen is bigger.
Itยดs good to have a place like that, Darko. :coffee:Thatยดs right Martin. Older men need bigger screens in order to see. :p every page has the size of a poster ๐
Risis, thank you :)Martin, it is a bit colder here but the worse thing is a strong wind that started today. It is 5C now but it feels much colder, like it is 0C :insane:KYren, I hope Mik will answer to this. As for me, I swear occassionaly, I guess this is a part of our "culture" :lol:Carlos, it is not that big, only 22 inch… errr… this is wrong somehow… :left: *quickly* Anyway, I don`t like desktop icons so I usually remove them ๐ There are few of them though, but hardly visible because of walpaper :PMartin, again ๐ this sounds like that game who has bigger… screen, I mean :lol:Nic :lol:Thank you, I really like my corner ๐
I think I've already had enough warm weather for the year, thank you! Or, for forever. :lol:So where's the keyboard at? Is it on one of those slide-out things in the front of the desk?
And I like my desktop icons. My friend Calvin keeps trying to get me to lose them, and put them all on Quick Launch bar, but I want mine on desktop where I can see them easily. Only have 30 or so.
 ๐
Ed, no matter how warm it was during summer, I like it more than a cold wind we have now :(Yes, my desk has that sliding board for keyboard.
I have 20 of them in quick launch bar ๐
I feel deprived with just a 19" widescreen! Chuck, I have oodles of pretty wallpapers. Most are landscape scenes. Right now I have an autumn picture of Woodstock. It's gorgeous!
The girls say that dpi is more important than screen size. :p
Martin, we are awesome
Hey, my dpi is 96. :p
Mik, that's because extremely small is also awesome. Besides, a wink is the same as a nod to a blind bat.
Mik, you have 10x multiplicator, then :DEd, every screen is 72 dpi by default ๐
Darko: …and if people ask us, why we have big screens, we have to be honest and just tell them the truth: it's because we are awesome, and awesome people need awesome stuff. It's as simple as that.Nic: I wish I had an adequat comment to your remark. Unfortunately, I haven't. Actually, I just got myself a pair of glasses (only +1) the other day. Last time I went to the doctor, I accidently heard him talk to his tape recorder (they do that all the time), saying 'The patient is a forty year old male in fairly good shape'. What is that? 'Fairly good shape'. Come on, give me a break! That'll teach me to eavesdrop another time…
I'm awesome but my screen is only two inches diagonally. :awww:
Yes I swore Kiran. I do it quite often too. What you asked Darko about his name is the European equivalent of "Why do they call a high caste indian Bhangi?" and that drove my comments on the actual post out of my head so I'm sure you can see why I swore.
@ Martin:lol:
It's the contrast ratio that counts on LCD and the refresh rate
Labeles! They do have enormous effect on us humans, don't they? Shakespeare, this is what is in a name. A high caste shitter is clean coz he has bhangi to clean his shit. While I was asking the question it never occurred to me that it'd be misinterpreted that way. The swear word took away all my jolly mood. Are you still friends with this mofo or not? I should have rephrased the question and simply asked why is your name Darko?
Now that you mention…. ๐
Ed, of course, I forgot to check that in graphic card settings  mine is too :PMartin, it is a nice explanation :lol:Linda, you are voice of a reason in whole this mess about sizes and DPIs :DKyren, my name came after word "dar" that means "gift"; I have found somewhere an explanation that it comes from an old Slavic phrase that means "the one redy to share"; it is not that old name, though….
Don't you find that strange? Me being the voice of reason I mean!? ๐ :yikes:
๐
I just occasionally have to let people know that I am not a blond. hahah
Peppermint, I can tell for a quick instant when your Blog starts loading that your current Background IS a nice scene. But, once the Foreground pops in, with my 17" Monitor, I only get to see that usual only half inch on each side of Background. I then don't get to see the lighter, more intricate portion of your Background … only the outer darkish scenery. But, I'm sure it looks great on bigger Monitors.
It does.
It does. Try to set your monitor resolution to more than 1024×768 px and you will see more of it ๐
*wonders why Darko is fantasising about my twenty inches*Nah, I'm happy with my smaller one. It only took one and a half inches for me to get Kim after all. Size really doesn't matter if you know how to use it.
Darko, I like your name.
๐ That's funny, Mik. ๐
Mik, I don't have to fantasize about yours 20 inches I have my own of 22 inches :PKyren, thanks ๐
If I changed to a higher than 1024 x 768 resolution, it would make everything too small to see properly on my 17" Monitor. I remember in my early Windows days, I actually used the resolution that is 1 step below 1024 x 768. It had nice, easy to see Big Icons. Eventually somewhere along the line I switched to 1024 x 768, but it took some getting used to. With higher than 1024 x 768, I probably wouldn't even be able to read the text below the Icons.
You guys should get a small one like me. Not only does everything seem the right size in comparison, but you have to try harder with it.
Small is okay, except keyboard keys. I absolutely hate small keyboard keys. Which is why I am happy whith my old stone age mobile phone. It has big keyboard keys and otherwise visible easy to operate buttons. I'm a grown man, for Pete's sake. My finger tips are a tad bigger than cue tip ends, in fact my thumb covers the entire keyboard of some of the new mobile phone models. It's impossible for me to only press one key at a time. Sometimes I wonder whether they make phones for small children and Asian people only.
