Does anyone recognize this one? It was small at the beginning but in less than 2 months it grew up to about 2cm – almost an inch.
Another interesting thing: I tried to touch it with a straw and it didn`t react. It doesn`t matter what I tried, it remained as dead. But when I touched one of its legs with my finger it started to move, swinging on the net. Treid it several times with same result. When photographing, two time (once with a flash) it didn`t react but third time it ran away :bug:

it looks very much like the spiders my dad has in the bee farmThey have the amber colors and they eat the dead bees. To my knowledge they are poisonous but this one might not be :)stellar picture if I may add! :up:
Is this inside or outside your window?!!! I'm sure it's a good photo but I will NOT look at it again. I get the creepy crawlers up and down my legs when I see spiders…even pictures of them. I do NOT like spiders at all. In my old house, we used to get alot of Black Widows. Those are poisonous.

Orbweb of some kind- but not from my part of the world (sorry, possbily 50,000 spider species and I can't identify them all!). She sleeps during the day which is why she is oblivious to minor harrassment. 🙂

The only spider I really "like" is a tarantula. I can tolerate any other, as long as I know it's there. If it sneaks up on me, all's fair in love and war.:lol:

I have handled several Boa Constrictors that belonged to friends of mine. One of them used to get out on a regular basis. The owner and I went to a party one night and I wore his red Boa around my neck. Boy, did we get attention!

We have tarantulas here in Texas. Used to entice them out of their holes in the ground when I lived in Sanger, Tex., which is near Ft. Worth "where the West begins." Some were as big as the palm of my hand
I am petrified of them. Everytime I come here to read the comments, I have to put my hand over my eyes so I don't see the picture. It's something about those legs. I think I'll go look at some beach photos before I go to bed.
Spiders are OK—–now ticks are a whole other pot of stew!

Dirk, I was afraid of them when I was a kid, but then I borrowed a book from library, Spiders – eight legged hunters and I learnt about them. My German Shepherd got one on the tip of his tail one time. Drove him crazy. He ran around like a chicken with its head cut off, and finally ran into the house. My son had to sit on him to get him still enough to get the thing off him. The dog was crying and growling at the same time.It was hilarious.:lol:
Linda, one of my friends from Hungaria had them in his house as pets. A lot of snakes too. He had a special room for their terariums so they could not escape. It's the things without legs I'm not too fond of. When you have to dig parasitic fly maggots out of your flesh (in tropical jungles), your affection for these critters ebbs.Fwiw, male spiders have quite elaborate pedipalps, and in orbwebs, relatively smaller abdomens.Spiders are quite handy really. Extremely few of them are dangerous. There's been the odd time when I've slept in places where you have to shake the cockroaches out of the bedding first. A good population of spiders and lizards means there's a good chance the cockroaches will get eaten before they make it back to the bed.

I don't! I wouldn't creep around the bushes they live in to stand on all their twigs and webs and other possessions, and I don't position myself right in front of their faces when they're sleeping :insane: I do them a courtesy, they can do me one :p
