Fireworks 2009

Like every other New Years Eve, some guys from my neighbourhood organized fireworks. This time I was there, on "the scene", closer like I never was before πŸ˜€ It was noisy and beautiful.

Since I was right next to the place, it lookd and sounded like in war zone – explosions, fire and smoke.

Wow, cool photos. Love the first one. The second one really looks like a war zone. Have been watching the news about the war in Gaza. Wars never stop happening it seems. Growing up, we used to get on the roof of the house and watch the fireworks all around. None were too close but it was fun. When visiting my daughter one July 4th, I could stand in the middle of her street and see them going off all over the place. It is allowed for anyone to have them in North Dakota. A neighbor, who lived close, was the resident salesman of fireworks so we went to buy some. He was also the school principal. Kinda funny…in Arizona, he'd be arrested. When my son-in-law lit them, I stood about two houses away. Still, they were very loud!

  32. gdare says:

We have strong regulations about using it, too, and I think that this one I saw was slightly on the other side of the law πŸ˜€ Mostly because of security. But, it was a New Year eve and no one bothered – and it was not the only one in a city, I could see that from my window.I was never that close and you bet it was loud; I could feel ground shaking when I made that bottom photo. And then it was a lot of smoke and tiny particles "raining" on us, so I moved further, didn`t want my clothes damaged πŸ˜€
