Anniversary

I was at the party few days ago. It was anniversary, 20 years after finishing high school. We managed to gather first time since then although not all of our class from 1988. was there. A lot of my friends are stll abroad and will probably remain there, in Canada, USA and Australia. When war started in 1991. accompanied with economic crisis many of them left the country trying to make a better life for themselves. There was about 20 of us (out of 40) and we spent nice and easy evening. It was men gathering because in my class there were no girls – back in these times they didn`t accept girls for airplane mechanics, it was supposed to be a job for a real men πŸ˜†
It was sort of strange to see all these faces. I have been seeing some of them time after time, some of them are my close friends. But some of them I haven`t seen for 10 or 15 years and few of them since high school was over. And although faces are changed, more or less, characters remained almost the same. It was nice to recognize same old behaviour we shared for 2, 3 or 4 years, the time we spent together in the same class.
Life, in general was not easy for many of us – some of them have few marriages behind them, one or two kids, some of us work for different companies, some have companies or businesses by their own. Some of us were lucky, some were not. As I expected, there were comparing between of us, to a certain degree, how much we acomplished, could we do more, are we satisfied or not. A friend of mine told me that we are in a critical, "panicking" ages, seeing that life goes fast and looking back doesn`t always seem so nice. It is 20 years after, a lot of water has passed under the bridge and it passed in unexplainable high speed πŸ˜€
And me? I was enjoying just watching them, listening their stories, commenting on some mutual issues. Today, a first set of photographs came to my e-mail. I was looking at them, thinking how same we were but how different at the same time. My friends….

Tilla – well, I don`t know, from this perspective it is weird to think about girls in my class; but I guess I will be happy to see them too, if they were existed :DRose – it is inevitable (comparing), more or less; but, wait, you will see :PAdele – especially because I haven`t seen some of them for 20years; one of my friends have said that we look the same, but some of them are like in a wide screen πŸ˜› because they have put on some weight… errrr.. a lot of weight πŸ˜† Thank you, I am 39 from now on :eyes:Angeliki – thank you

  29. gdare says:

Errr… my last name is G*********, I am not sure why did you think of me as Abramovich πŸ˜†

  30. ellinidata says:

sorry Darko,I meant well, after saving a picture from one photo album ( I don't recall which one since all your pictures are special), I got the name Abramovich in my file…when you left a msg I also said thanks Darko Abramovich and you didn't correct me..now this happen some time ago…So, if I ever visited Serbia I was going to look for an Abramovich πŸ˜† I bet I wasn't going to be empty handed :)You have to admit it could have been great if you had the millions of the Roman Abramovich ! (I hope you wouldn't spend it in one piece of art ! ).Thank you for correcting me this time Darko G********* .

  31. gdare says:

I remember when you called me Abramovich but I have thought it was some kind of joke I couldn`t understand  :lol:It is not a problem, if I have had his money I would visit all of my friends from MyOpera :DNow I will cover my second name, just in case πŸ˜€

  32. ellinidata says:

now you know ! :lol:and because a friend of mine working for American Airlines has a similar name as Abramovich I didn't even need to use any memory cells to remember, Danny is the son of a Serbian father and a Greek mother. πŸ™‚

  33. gdare says:

Neither do I have my wealth :lol:I am off to bed soon, have a nice evening

  34. gdare says:

Interesting. Is his name Danny or something more Balcanic? πŸ™‚

  35. ellinidata says:

it is Daniel . I am sure he has a middle name but I never saw one in his letter heads or business cards. To me he is simply danny since we go back many years .Times that he was a sales person and he used to come for dinner once a week. His salary was so low those days he considered it as a charity.Who knew he will become an Executive in a European American Airlines Branch! A great man. He knew how to read only capital letters of the Greek alphabet because when young in Serbia, relatives from Greece use to send him comic books in a package :)I am about to visit qlue in South Africa..:) Using Opera of course! I don;t have your wealth πŸ˜†

  36. ellinidata says:

Good Night Darko, qlue has no Internet ,we have no wealth, I hope tomorrow brings a better day! :lol:sweet dreams

  37. gdare says:

  42. gdare says:

  47. gdare says:

Thanks Angeliki :happy:Marina – thank you πŸ˜€ It is interesting to see how people are changing during the years; one friend of mine and me were told that we are almost remained the same as we were in school; coincidence is that we both are still single :eyes: πŸ˜†

  48. yomeriux says:

πŸ˜† πŸ˜† so the secret to remain the same is to not get married??:right: :left: …
